status

It's midnight here now. We changed our ships time to adjust for our westward progression today (should have done it sooner). Technically every 15 degrees of latitude you travel to the west, you should subtract one hour since a circle has 360 degrees and there are 24 hours in a day.

Currently making 4.5 -6.5 knots in a bit under 10 knots of wind.

A second set of swells are coming from the east now and mixing with the previous swell from the north making for a little bit of a wild ride as of late afternoon.

  1. Keep an eye on your AIS and the horizon for the Vendee Globe yachts. The leaders are well past you, and you're not likely to be near 3rd placed boat, but 4th thru 6th may well be crossing your path (especially if you make the Cap Verdi detour.
