D-day -1 part two

the rescue! ( For once I was glad to see "the arches")
I tried to enter the address in a google search but to no avail. I couldn't figure it out. So I drove in the direction that I thought it was supposed to be but quickly realized I wasn't going to be able to find it before I needed to be back to pick up Ben, Paddy and Anthony from the big provisioning run at the grocery store.
So I drove back to SantaCruz to get them. Once I found them (3 story mall that happens to have a Carrefour grocery store in it) they said they needed another hour or so. So I went off in search again. It took me 30 minutes just to get out of the underground parking garage. I then set out once again. I can't tell you how many people I showed the address to but most didn't have a clue where it was, some offered a general direction uto drive.
I eventually went on a store and asked a customer and instead of a shrug or general finger point she pointed at the address of the building and pointed in a specific direction. That meant I was on the right road!!!
I had been just ready to give up as I was very, very late to pick up everyone. I found the store 10 minutes later and made my purchase and headed back. Once there, they had just finished and arranged for delivery. What a godsend! As 4 grocery carts full of food was not going to fit in my little rental car.
We then piled into the car to go to the sendoff get together at the Club Nautico yacht club. Had a good get together then filled up the fuel cans (160 liters in all) and stored them in the boat.
Antoine showed up around this time so now we are 5 people strong.
I returned the rental car to the airport and got a taxi ride back just in time to make it to the captain's briefing.
No surprises there.
Jimmy Cornell hosted a good discussion and also included a heartfelt plea to enjoy the journey; don't be too focused on the destination. Words to live by.
How often do we worry about the next milestone instead of what's passing us by each moment?
We had a great dinner at a place Carlos previously found.
I'm writing this at 2:22 so time to sign off. It'll be a big day tomorrow: we shove off at 9:30am.
