Just noticed weather far to the north of us in the North Atlantic. Looks like it could be a very late season named storm. The weather report shows hurricane force winds there and seas 18-24ft
This same thing happened in January 2016; likely an indicator of global warming. I believe the prior time there was a January hurricane in the Atlantic was 60-70 years ago.
And to clarify, this will have no effect on us with the possible exception on disrupting some of the trade winds we are counting on. The latest weather report suggests we go south to avoid an area of light air (no wind).
We currently have brisk winds and will maintain this course for another few hours before making a turn for a more southerly course.
Wow! This is definitely not hurricane season, how interesting to see such a big cell at this time of year! Glad you are all well clear of it!
